Last week the Federal Government announced a relief package for the Arts and Entertainment industries. We welcome the recognition from the government that our sector needs support. We are hopeful this JobMaker package will have a positive impact as the end of JobKeeper comes into sight and the performing arts industry looks to rebuild in the future.
We await the details of how this one-off stimulus will roll out across the sector and what impact it will have on Circus Oz.
The future for performing arts is still uncertain as we see the unpredictable nature of coronavirus outbreaks and continue to negotiate how to make performance spaces both safe and viable.
What is very clear, is that the best course for Circus Oz is to keep our shows, tours, classes and other programs in hibernation until next year.
We are determined to emerge from this crisis stronger and more resilient than ever before.
While we wait for the horizon to come more into focus, we'll be undergoing change to both our internal structures and to the way we perform and deliver our programs. We're working towards coming out of hibernation in a staged approach to ensure we support our audiences, artists and the wider sector as best we can in this ever-changing new world.
