AMPAG Submission to Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission
AMPAG has responded to previous reviews and consultation papers on the formation of the ACNC and the not-for-profit sector during 2011–2013.
Read MoreThe federal government has conducted several inquiries and reviews since 2011 into a range of areas affecting the not-for-profit sector. This includes tax legislation relating to charities and not-for-profits as well as the overall regulatory environment. The ACNC was established under the Labor government in November 2012. The 2013 Coalition government is now reviewing the powers and overall remit of the ACNC, and is likely to scrap it, setting up instead a centre for excellence to look at continuing to raise governance standards. AMPAG's responses to these inquiries and reviews are listed here. (The government’s various discussion papers, reviews and exposure drafts can be found here.).
