WASO update

In March we made the difficult decision to suspend all WASO concert performances at Perth Concert Hall for six weeks due to the developing situation surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak. Based on the current advice we have now extended that suspension to 1 June 2020.

WASO update

Here at WASO, we are as committed as ever to sharing extraordinary music, in a time where we all need it most. Our musicians and staff are creating and sharing new experiences online each week until we can all be together again at our home, Perth Concert Hall. You can stay in touch via our Facebook page and https://www.waso.com.au/concerts-tickets/let-the-music-play-on/.

Ticket holders for Birds of Tokyo in Concert and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in Concert will be contacted directly with the rescheduled performance details. For those who are able to attend the new performances, their tickets will be valid for the new shows and no further action is required. For those patrons who cannot exchange tickets but would like to support our mission to touch souls and enrich lives through music, please consider donating part or all of the value of your tickets back to WASO so that we can let the music play on.

“On behalf of WASO and Perth Concert Hall I would like to offer our thanks to Premier Mark McGowan for his strong leadership of the state’s response, and our deepest gratitude to Western Australia’s frontline health workers for their tireless efforts. We also want to recognise the hardship faced by the arts and entertainment sector and offer solidarity to musicians, artists, performers, staff and event promoters whose livelihood depends on a vibrant arts and cultural sector in Western Australia. This unprecedented situation requires a considered and cautious response and the health, safety and wellbeing of our patrons, employees and the community is our priority as we all do our best to stop the spread. Our operations rely on the financial support and generosity of the community and we would like to thank the Federal and West Australian Governments, our corporate partners and our valued philanthropic supporters for their continuing support at this difficult time.” – Mark Coughlan, Chief Executive Officer.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Stay well and stay safe.
